Bear Fruit Project: FAITH!

This month for Bear Fruit Project we made "Bear fruit faith cards" 

Hence the pun: 

In these cards there was a summary of the messages on faith and I went through how to write a testimony with everyone. After that everyone paired off and shared their testimonies and made steps of faithfulness to one another. I got paired with Joy and we promised to sit next to someone new every week at church and strike up a conversation with them. 

In this world and age, people are so unfaithful to one another. People make promises with no commitment to keep them and we see high percentages of divorce and affairs in relationships. It's no wonder our faith in God seems to mimic the standards of the people around us.
The world always belittles our faith to "blindness" or "weakness", yet in the bible faith really means fully trusting and hoping in God. Our faith is grounded on the facts of Jesus the Son of God and His death and resurrection. It is based on FACTS in history, not fiction.

This study on the fruit of faithfulness has taught me that true faith produces action. People who call themselves Christians but do not act like Christians have faith that is dead.

"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." James 2:17

Faith can also mean doctrine or a statement. For example in Jude 3 we are told to "earnestly contend for the faith". We are to defend our faith in Christ as we are attacked by those who mock at us. In my life I've been mocked by numerous people very close to me and those from afar. But I count it all joy and a privilege to uphold my faith.

Finally, faithfulness means continuous commitment to God and the people around us. We cannot serve two masters, for either we will hate one and love the other or hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matt 6:24.

In my life, God has always been faithful to me. His kindness never fails, His love never fails and His presence is always with me. Therefore I will not fear what tomorrow holds.
