BEAR FRUIT PROJECT: Father's day toolkit cookies

Tonight I gave a message on the lead up to Father's day :) 

Psalm 68:5 says "A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling."

Of all the ways the Lord God Almighty could have chosen to relate to humanity, He chose the language of family. He could have described Himself as a benevolent dictator, kind boss or patient landlord. But instead, He chose the word father. 

He presents Himself as a Father because we all know what a father is and does. Even if we do not have a good earthly father who treats us well, we do have God our Father who loves and takes care of us. 

God knows that sometimes our fathers have been absent or not reflected His love in our lives, therefore he instructs them in Ephesians 6:4. 

Psalm 27:10 "Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me."

This Father's day we prayed and made cookie gifts of appreciation to our fathers. 

Ellen, Sam, Esther and I pre-baked the cookies using toolkit cutters to link in with our "Build His Kingdom" theme. 

Then we all formed a line and packed them together and added a message and ribbon. It was a wonderful and hilarious night. 

Hui Xian was back in town as well :)

Esther was stressed out as she led this night :P she did a wonderful job though.
